Link can befriend SkullKid in the Lost Woods by playing Saria's Song on his ocarina, he will then receive a piece of heart as a gift. Skullkid is also fond of the Skull Mask which he buys for 10 rupees from Link to cover his non-existant face and make him appear a little tougher.
